Description
Don E. Wirtshafter moderates the most anticipated panel of Seattle Hempfest 2012. Initiative 502 is on the Washington State ballot and would legalize personal possession of marijuana, with state-licensed cultivation for commercial stores. It also institutes a new per se DUID at 5ng of active THC per milliliter of blood, which is an unscientific standard for determining driver impairment. Regarding Kari’s 10ng after sleeping… So, if she gets up in the morning now, and she drives around now, and she attracts the attention of a cop now, who then pulls her over now, and then suspects she’s impaired now, and then gives her a sobriety test now, which she fails now, and then he arrests her now, and takes her in for a blood test now, and it comes in at 10ng/ml now… guess what? She’s going to be charged with DUID now and pay $15,000 for a lawyer now and probably lose now at 10ng/ml.
Excellent point Russ! And Thank You for posting up the vid!
what a foolish idea this prop is
I heard it fine
They showed their true colors, Im glad Kari corrected them on their distortion of the facts USING THEIR OWN DATA! Good Job on Kari!
Any conspiracy theory that Alison Holcomb and Keith Stroup secretly want prohibition to continue so they can line their own pockets as lawyers is juvenile, illogical, and insulting to two people whom I know personally and I know whose intentions are honorable. It’s as stupid as supposing Humane Society wants dog beatings to continue or NAACP wants racism to continue or Greenpeace wants whaling to continue, or else they’ll lose their jobs.
*HOLCOMB
The DUI provision discussion is silly…. If I-502 was passed in WA, Police and Politicians would then be legal to purchase, use and posses marijuana too. There will be police officers and politicians smoking and consuming marijuana. We would then all be in the same boat. Right now the medical aspect of the system is the most divisive.
I am so very impressed with Kari’s critique of I-502 and the CORRECT use of the facts, not some prohibition driven lawyers view of it. Keith and Alison have a financial stake in keep some form of prohibition in place. They are LAWYERS who make their money by defending people against criminal charges. Kari and Steve (though he irks me) do not have the vested interest in keeping prohibition alive as the lawyers and LEO do. Its funny how many LEO are backing I-502.
great debate wish the sound was louder had to play this through a 5.1 dds amp to really hear anything
Keith Straup and Alison halcomb made a lot if sence #Yeson502 stop the nitpicking
For all we know Kari could have smoked a joint right before her test, and without actually seeing this test, except for her waving papers around its really naive to just agree with it, so her point was irrelavent. The 5ng limit is not enough reason to vote no on this initiative. Right now paitent or not if you have ANY AMOUNT you are GUILTY #yeson502
