do you need to change the res every 7 to 10 days? can you just wait for res to get very low and then just top up?

Look up the definition to hydroponics. What it really means. You run an active open root system. No more or less hydroponic than running a flood table with coco. Dwc really teeters on the verge of aeroponics depending on how much oxygen you can provide
How are you starting these out? Are you using coco then transplanting to a DWC? Or taking clones and sticking them in cubes then later sticking them in DWC to veg?

yes you can, thats always a good idea, “oxygen to the roots”!!!
When it drinks 2 gallons of water a day i “top it off ” (bring it back to desired level) with fresh water and nutes.

I know you don’t like autoflowers. That said, have you ever run one with a DWC setup? I have seen where other experienced growers (like you) have produced enormous results with autos and DWC. You have TOTALLY sold me on DWC, no matter how many channels I sub, I keep finding myself back here looking at DWC. It seems like a no brainer! I’m sure that’s due to the fact that you make it look easy.

i was gifted an auto before called micromachine but it turned out to be a retarded seed and never flowered so i tossed it. i can say that one experience alone pretty much ruined it for me in my idea of “auto” seeds. if im ever lucky enough to land a pack of freebies from a very reputable breeder then i might consider trying them again. your idea of dwc auto intheory would rock 🙂 !
