Episode 17: Official Flip to Flower, Day 0 & Living Soil Preparation

In this episode of the BuildASoil 10×10 Series, Season 9 Episode 17, it’s finally time to officially flip the garden back to flower after recovering from the timer malfunction that forced the reveg.

I start with a Week 17 update, check in on the recovering Blueberry Muffins, and share what I learned from the reveg process before preparing the entire room for Day 0 of flower.

Next, I mix and apply a complete flower-transition top dress, inoculate the living soil with Rootwise and Bio-Phos, and explain my strategy for keeping the EarthBoxes and raised beds fully supplied as the stretch begins.

Finally, I switch the garden to a 12/12 flowering schedule, verify the mechanical timer setup, measure PPFD, and make the final lighting adjustments before flower officially begins. As a bonus, I also install the trellis net to prepare the canopy for the weeks ahead.

By the end of this episode, you’ll see exactly how I prepare a living soil garden for Day 0 of flower, from nutrition and biology to lighting, timing, and canopy support.
