If you want to start outside growing right now I would recommend you go online and buy Auto-Flower seeds. Because regular photo -period varieties will have no buds all the way until next fall around October.
Drew, what soil base do you start with before adding extra perlite?

I like Happy Frog the best .But all of the top recommended soils are great.
Before I knew about adding extra Perlite to the soil I used to. But it definitely does not hurt to improve the drainage
So you know what you are doing. But there is always something more to learn. I follow other peoples work on the internet pretty much every day for tips and new idea’s. I did organics for about two grows a while back and it is a bit more work and I didn’t see any really benefits other than maybe plants are less likely to be overdosed by the nutrients so I quit when the organic nutrients ran out.
Your outcome will not be that good if nutrients aren’t used. At minimum use something like Miracle grow. But for best results you need to use a full line of nutrients. The cheapest and easiest I know is Botanicare. Then there is dozens of others like Canna,House and Garden, General hydroponics, Advanced Nutrients and so many more. Do a lot of research.My favorite sinle site is Marijuana,com
I just brought that plant out to a open area for the demo. What I kept hearing from people was that they would water constantly thinking more is better .
