new overall length is 44 inches. i extended it about 8 inches so it fits perfect into my space. i like this design much more that the previous one because i dont have to worry about my bigger bulbs falling out and breaking. i dont know why i didnt think about putting reflectors on the floor. every time i look at it, i think to myself, “it looks a little dark down there.” lol. thanks for mentioning it.
