Episode 20: Day 37 Flower, Cultivar Development, Aromas & Keeper Selection
In this episode of the BuildASoil 10×10 Series, Season 9 Episode 20, the garden reaches Day 37 of flower and we get a closer look at how everything has developed over the past two weeks.
I start with an update on the Blueberry Muffins, checking flower structure, aroma, and overall plant health while discussing a recent PPFD adjustment under the Mammoth Nova lights. With all seven Blueberry Muffins expressing strong blueberry aromas, I’m also starting to think about what characteristics will ultimately determine which one becomes the keeper.
From there, I tour the rest of the 10×10 and check in on the GMO Sour Diesel, Ghost Peppa, Gonzo Grape, and Mountain Dew. The cultivars are beginning to show more of their individual flower structure, frost, and aroma as they move deeper into flower.
At this stage, there isn’t much intervention needed. The BluMat irrigation and living soil systems are handling the day-to-day work, allowing me to focus on observing the plants and making small adjustments as needed.
We’re getting closer to the finish, and the next few weeks should reveal even more about each cultivar as the flowers continue to stack, mature, and develop their final aromas.
