In a self-respecting United States of America, the populace would respect and understand their own history well enough to know that the states created the federal government, the federal government did not create the states as administrative policy districts.
Any American who believes this is even a discussion which can be had is a shamefully uninformed dogmatic.
Sadly, Obama (Romney would have been just as bad) is a statist ideologue who will send federal guns against state citizens over plants
