Autoflower Training & Watering Timing

Description

Autoflowers didn’t need heavy defoliation, but in this clip, I showed how strategic leaf removal and low-stress training helped improve structure and light penetration.

I walked through how I removed larger fan leaves to expose lower growth, encouraged branching, and lightly pinched the top to create a bushier, more even canopy.

What’s happening here:
Selective defoliation improved light penetration to lowers
Low-stress training (LST) encouraged wider, bushier growth
Pinching the top helped redirect energy to side branches
Early structure set the plant up for better canopy development
Trellis netting was planned to support future growth

Watering insights:
First watering was about 1 gallon, kept light to avoid overwatering
Moisture was still present even after 6 days
Reservoir still had a small amount of water left
Initial watering cycle lasted about 6–7 days
Next watering was planned as a full refill once fully depleted

Early-stage plants needed less water, and starting light helped avoid overwatering while roots established.
