Episode 2: Seed Germination Updates, Transplanting & Environment Dial-In

In this episode of the BuildASoil 10×10 series, we dive into the next phase of Season 9: moving seedlings from germination into their growing environment. From tackling taproot and gravitropism issues to setting up your grow environment and EarthBoxes for success, this is a full behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to get seedlings thriving.

I walk through pre-transplant prep, including soil inspection, root evaluation, and microbe inoculation strategies. You’ll see exactly how to transplant seedlings into EarthBoxes, maintain proper moisture, and implement top-dressing with beneficial microbes to jumpstart early growth.

We also cover setting up the grow environment, from AC Infinity humidifiers and temperature/humidity control to measuring PPFD and adjusting lights for optimal seedling development. By the end, you’ll understand how to monitor your system and ensure your plants get off to the right start, setting the stage for explosive growth.
