Description

Episode 15: Week 15 Grow Update, Reveg Recovery, Clone Transplants & Preparing for Flower

In this episode of the BuildASoil 10×10 Series, Season 9 Episode 15, I share a full Week 15 update after an unexpected interruption to the flower run and explain how the garden is recovering as we prepare for another flowering cycle.

I begin by revisiting the decision to reset the flowering run after a timer issue forced an early harvest. Rather than continue with potentially unstable flowering plants, I explain why I chose to preserve the healthiest genetics through clones and how that decision protects the pheno hunt while ensuring the eventual keeper is evaluated under ideal conditions.

Next, I provide an update on the transplanted Blueberry Muffin clones and discuss several lessons learned during the transplant process. I explain how my bottomless cup experiment affected early root establishment, why moisture management became critical during recovery, and how I plan to improve the transplant method in future runs while preventing rolly pollies from damaging young plants.

From there, I walk through the current state of the 10×10 garden, covering supercropping recovery, clone preparation, overwatering recovery, top dressing plans, and my overall strategy for getting every plant ready before flipping back into flower. I also discuss canopy management, preserving backup genetics, and balancing plant size so every phenotype enters flower on an even playing field.

I then visit the separate 4×4 tent to inspect the Blueberry Muffin plant that successfully revegged after the timer failure. We take a close look at how the plant returned to flower, evaluate bud development, resin production, structural changes caused by reveg, and check for any signs of hermaphroditism while discussing what this experience teaches about plant resilience.

Finally, I wrap up with another transplant lesson after removing a restrictive one-gallon container that was preventing proper root establishment inside the EarthBox. I explain how a small adjustment dramatically improved plant recovery and why simple observations often lead to better growing techniques than complicated solutions.
